21st Century CLC

 Dear Parent/Guardian,

We invite you and your child to join Childrens Village Academys 21st Century Community Learning Center. A brand new program that will help your child excel in the STEM subject areas of science, technology, engineering and math while having fun with classmates. At the Center, we are preparing the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators while building a workforce for North Carolina and the global community.

The 21st Century Community Learning Center will offer programs to enrich the students learning experience in a fun-filled environment. Students will utilize their creativity and critical thinking in projects that will help to improve performance on the state End-of-Grade (EOG) tests. Students will learn as they challenge each others ideas and sharpen their problem-solving and analytic skills. Students will "learn by doing" in the STEM Lab, equipped with robotics, computers, tablets and smart boards.

Twice every month, special workshops will be held for parents on topics such as bullying, strengthening the home learning environment, and building resilience in children.  A parent resource library center outfitted with several computers will be available for parents use.

We are very excited about this opportunity. The program is free to all students eligible for free and reduced lunch in Lenoir and surrounding counties. But space is limited, so register today. A brochure and enrollment application are available on our website, www.cvatigers.com, the principal's office at your child's school or by calling Ms. Michelle Atkinson at CVA (252.520.4536).

Sincerely,

Gloria Carr-Battle

K-2 Principal
